Dear Sirs,

Please advise all the Cape to Rio racers about the four new Winlink 2000 SSB HF radio email land stations available to them.
Both for Pactor and WINMOR computer sound card TNC's.
These volunteer stations are in Cape Town, Namibia, Maputo and Chile.
A Ham radio license is required to operate on these frequencies.
GRIB files and weather forecast products such as Weather fax and satellite pictures can be downloaded.
Normal email with attachments can be sent and received to any email address world wide.

All Hams on board should please update their radio channel lists in Airmail and/or RMS Express (WINMOR), to show these new land station servers (RMS's.)

RMS Express (WINMOR sound card TNC), is available for free download here:
Also download the htshf (VOACAP) HF propagation forecast software after downloading and installing RMS Express.
This is needed for the RMS Express channel list to work correctly.

A laptop computer to radio interface, such as the Signalink USB is also required.
Available at all Ham Radio stores for about $100.
TX and RX set to 1/3 and Delay set to minimum.
Otherwise, use acoustic coupling.
i.e. External computer microphone listening to the radio's speaker.
Radio's microphone listening to the computer's speaker cross-wise.
Radio's VOX turned on and Delay set to minimum.
